I was in the mood for a little change on YouTube this month and after 2 and a half years of consistent monthly favourites I decided it was time to switch things up and try something new but for all you eagle eyed beauty product lovers here’s my top products that have really been floating my boat recently.
Starting off with skincare as every season I like to re-evaluate my regime and switch it up depending on my lifestyle at that moment. My skin has been to-ing and fro-ing with all this travelling and after much trial and even more error, I’ve always found my skin reacts best when I strip it back to the basics. Eucerin is a brand I’ve been trying out recently, I really like that all their products are clinically proven for specific skin types and skin concerns. With my sensitive skin, I’ve been starting off my routine with Eucerin UltraSENSITIVE Cleansing Lotion, which aims to target a weakened skin barrier, hypersensitivity and reactivity. All of which my skin fits into. It’s really simple to use, 1-2 pumps and massage that into the skin, then rinse off with water. It leaves my skin feeling smooth, calm and clean. Most importantly it doesn’t aggravate my red patches or any blemishes. Another real gem is the Eucerin DermatoCLEAN Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover. As Summer is rolling around and I’ve been wearing some heavy duty mascara that usually takes a while to remove. It includes an upper and lower layer which you shake together to form one and use it on a cotton pad, pressed against your eyes. It’s really easy, requires no tugging against the lid and one of the most effective black mascara and eyeliner removers I’ve found. It’s also suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers. If you’re interested in which Eucerin products might be suitable for your skin type, visit the Eucerin website where they’ve got a short skin test you can do to get a tailored recomendation. For those who like face to face advice, there will be a Eucerin Skincare Consultant in bigger Boots stores on selected Fridays and Saturdays who can provide advice and on skin issues and products.
Once my skin is prepped it’s time to think about a pop of colour. You might have spotted the Tarte Lippie Lingerie in one of my most recent vlogs, I haven’t had them very long but it’s been a very quick love affair. They’re chubby crayons that have a matte finish but feel like a balm. They aren’t as long lasting as something like a matte liquid lipstick but far more long lasting than a gloss. They’ve really got every fantastic neutral shade a girl could ask for, I’ve been wearing Whisper practically every day!
I’m constantly looking for ways to brighten my under eyes and usually I would reach for a loose setting powder however they’ve become a rare occasion for me simply because of the mess and faff. Rodial have come out with their Instaglam Compact Deluxe Banana Powder and its absolutely incredible. It’s a light yellow colour, which immediately brightens the under eyes and sets concealer. Plus, it’s in pressed powder form and one of the first I’ve found to be sold in a single compact form.
