With March 20th behind us it’s officially spring now, but don’t bring the confetti out to celebrate just yet. Sure, the days are getting longer (thank goodness), but the weather, at least here in Europe, is still a bit here, there and everywhere. Now it wouldn’t be an Amelia post without a weather update would it? When you need to bundle up for an Arctic expedition in the morning and whip out the sunglasses in the afternoon, it’s tricky to figure out which part of the closet to utilise, but my safest bet in these in-between months is the number one spring multitasker – a transitional coat.
The dusky pink number from Club Monaco that’s been through every weather change with me is still one of my all time favourites. It’s not as thick and warm as my proper winter coats, but comes in handy when the spring temperatures are still down in the lows, layered with a thicker knit. Apart from the feminine colour, I also love how classic the mid-length cut is. I find it so easy to wear either super casually like here in Amsterdam with a pair of jeans, over-the-knee boots and a super comfy N.Peal jumper, or for slightly more dressed-up occasions paired with a sophisticated dress and some elegant heels a la Meghan Markle on the engagement reveal day.
