I often travel across the world for a few days and although it doesn’t take as much of a toll as it used to, it’s certainly taken some getting used to and coming up with my own essentials and routine. Last week as I was settling into the 12 hour flight, surrounded by my clear bag of beauty products about to sanitise up, I thought about putting together my top travel tips in writing as a guide to refer to.
TIP 3
SLEEP ESSENTIALS!
Two things that really help me with sleeping on a plane are an eye mask and neck pillow. Eye masks are great for cancelling out the light and relaxing your eyes. I usually use the eye mask given on the plane or bring my silk eye mask from Slip which is so soft! There’s obviously not that much room on a plane, so finding a little cosy nook using a neck pillow really helps. To save space, I would definitely recommend buying a blow up one so that it doesn’t take up most of the room in your bag!
TIP 4
MOISTURISE & HYDRATE!
I always bring a small bag of my skincare products to keep my skin feeling fresh and hydrated. On my way to Shanghai, I used a couple of my current favourites. The Elemis kefir tea mist was the perfect wake up spritz or calming mist (I practically used half the bottle on the plane!) I used the Neutrogena instant face cream mask which is such a great boost of hydration and moisture and finally another essential was lip balm! I love using the Clinique Repairwear lip balm to keep them nourished and soft.
TIP 1
TRAVEL IN COMORT!
I’m not someone who can travel in jeans, so I always bring a pair or two of tracksuits or leggings with a cosy jumper. It’s a great way to instantly feel more relaxed on a plane! I wore my ME+EM tracksuits on the way to Shanghai and had my super soft Lauren Moshi tracksuits for the way back. They were both perfect for a cosy journey!
TIP 2
SANITISE!
Going through airports and security where there are so many people always makes me a bit more conscious about germs so I like to keep a hand sanitiser in my bag. One of my favourites is Dr Bronner’s lavender hand sanitiser, it’s a spray which feels really refreshing and smells lovely! Another good thing to bring is wet wipes – I usually wipe down the seat control, tables and arm rest.
TIP 5
BRING SNACKS!
We all know I love my snacks, so when we’re in the air for 12 hours I definitely brought a few of those along. Some of my favourite snacks are any of the Emily’s Crisps range. They have sweet and savoury options so I brought a couple to choose from. I would recommend trying the crunchy banana or crunchy apple flavours.. delicious! Another go to snack are the fruit peelers from Fruit Bowl – the raspberry flavour is so addictive!
TIP 6
TRAVEL SICKNESS REMEDY!
Something I bring on all my flights are these herbal remedy travel pills from a little place called Cavendish Pharmacy. They contain nux vomica which is a great anti travel sickness remedy. It also has melatonin which helps with your sleep cycle and arnica which is great for sore/painful muscles and swelling.
